Your letter can simply be a brief note, so long as it is clear you want more Legend of the Seeker. ;)
-Postcards are both cheap and very effective.
-Be polite in your letters. The person who will read them didn't cancel our show, so we shouldn't treat them as if they did.
-If possible, try to argue that Legend of the Seeker would greatly benefit all parties involved in its resurrection. State that even with poor time slots, lack of promotion and erratic airing schedules, the series still managed to gain millions of dedicated followers. If given a chance, it could be one of the most popular shows currently on television!
-To request re-runs when we contact the networks!

Baby we're back!

I've know, I've been away for a while, have been a very busy bee. But I'm back and still fighting!
First, I'm really pleased that we have a fan table at the London Film and Comic Con this July. It's a fabulous opportunity to expand the fan base and let more Brits now about the wonder that is LotS. If you want to come along and help man the table, I would love to hear from you and you can sign up here
Hoping to meet lots of other Seeker fans there!
Second, and more important, is that this time of year is when the US networks start looking at which shows they are going to pick up. This is our shot! If we can do a big drive to show the networks we're still here, still fighting and we still want out show, then we can convince them to pick it up. And now is the time to do it!
The unflappable team at the LotS forums have some brilliant ideas, and a much expanded Journey Book Campaign.
I know the long fight has been wearing and a lot of people have given up. But this time of year is a brilliant chance for us to show the hungry-for-new-shows networks that picking up LotS will make them money.
So if there was ever a time to get back in the fight, it is now!
Money counts to the networks so this thread by Dragonfly on telling the networks how much you've spent on SoS is a great idea. Count everything - stamps, paper, DVDs, donations, the works. And tell them how you'd much rather spend that money on merchandise from the show. Let's get those $$ signs flashing before their eyes!

Once Starz showed great interest in Legend of the Seeker, but backed out at the last moment in order to focus on the programming it already aired. With the recent announcement that Starz will be aggressively expanding its lineup within the next 18 months, it's time for Seeker fans to strike once more!

And much, much more!
Starz Customer Service: 1-866-888-4010
Call and politely request that they pick up Legend of the Seeker. If you're a Starz subscriber, assure them that if they acquired Legend of the Seeker it would ensure your loyalty for years to come. If you aren't a subscriber, tell them (truthfully or not) that you would subscribe if they picked up LotS.
You can also compare LotS to their popular Spartacus series, also produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, but please DO NOT bring up Andy Whitfield's cancer. Doing so is in bad taste, the JBC team strongly opposes such tactics.

New campaign idea - when you wish upon a star
New campaign idea from the creative peeps on the LotS forums. This one is quite emotional and I think, very apt.
"When You Wish Upon a Star..."
Hello everyone! From everything we've seen, it has become apparent that Disney is no longer interested in producing Legend of the Seeker. It also seems that maybe they just want to shut it away in that big old Disney vault of theirs and forget all about it. I'm sure that they would like for us to just shut up and go away as well.
I don't think so.
Starting RIGHT NOW, we're asking everyone to send in a postcard of a star or stars with the phrase "When You Wish Upon a Star..." Nothing else should be on the front of the postcard. The message on the back should simply ask Disney to sell the production rights of Legend of the Seeker to another network. Examples will follow.
Here's the kicker and we really need all of you for this to work. Please send AS MANY AS POSSIBLE EVERY DAY to Disney. If you can only send one, then please do that. Every postcard is important. If you can send 10 or more, even better. If you don't want to make your own there will be plenty to chose from on this thread. If you've never mailed before, let this be the time your start.
Mailing Dates: Starts RIGHT NOW for everyone, overseas and in the US. Oct 9th is the end date, although we might extend it."
With the DVD drive hopefully making big sales, this is a great time to give Disney another push. And it reminds them that we are not going away. Despite what the sleeve of the S2 DVD says, WE WILL NOT GIVE UP, AND WE WILL NOT GO AWAY.
So please Seekers, I urge you to send as many postcards as you can. No amount is too small. If you can only send one, that is enough. If you can send more, great.
The important thing is that we ALL join in and do this.
Here are a couple of examples:

The Disney addresses:
Anne Sweeney
Disney-ABC Television Group
500 S. Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521
Paul Lee
Disney-ABC Television Group
500 S. Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521
Please send a card and help to Save Our Seeker

This weeks JBC campaign - Stock the Shelves
Because of the release of the Season 2 DVD - at long last! - this week's JBC campaign will be a repeat of the previous Stock the Shelves. They are asking that, instead of contacting TV stations, you instead contact your local library and retail stores requesting that they carry LotS.
"As history shows, DVD sales can be quite effective when it comes to the revival of a canceled TV series. Family Guy, Futurama, and several other shows were saved mainly due to high DVD sells, and I'm not the only one who thinks they can be helpful to our cause.
With this in mind, the JBC supported the DVD drive a few months back with the first Stock the Shelves Week. This week, with the release of the Season 2 DVD, it is time for Stock The Shelves Week 2.
Information
Instead of contacting TV stations, this week you will be contacting your local Library and major retailers in your area to request that they stock the Legend of the Seeker Season 1 & 2 DVDs. Our goal is not only to drive up LotS DVD sales, showing the suits that there is profit to be made, but to widen the fanbase and build our numbers.
Unfortunately most international fan will not be able to participate in this week's JBC, so we're asking all those who can't to redo last week's JBC. Fans living in Germany and France are able to participate. Anyone else who wishes to continue with the regular JBC as well may also redo last week, but we ask that you participate this week as well since this is a very important campaign.
Contact Information
Since we can't provide everyone a link to their local Library's website, we ask that once this week you take the time to Google "*Your Town and State* Public Library" and find the contact information on their website. If you're lucky, you'll find email information, and/or a contact form. If not, you'll have to call them to make the request. The number should be located on the website, if not try a phonebook or look on Google. You may do the same for any major retailers located near you.
Example Blurb
I'd like to suggest the purchase of Season 2 DVDs of "Legend of the Seeker".
[I'd like to suggest the purchase of Season 1 and Season 2 DVDs of "Legend of the Seeker" -
if they don't have S1]
"Legend of the Seeker" is produced by Disney-ABC and is loosely based on the
best selling series "The Sword of Truth" by Terry Goodkind. Starring Craig Horner,
Bridget Regan, Tabrett Bethell, Bruce Spence and Craig Parker, and filmed against
the backdrop of beautiful New Zealand, the series is a high quality production as many
cast & crew were part of the production of "Lord of the Rings."
'Legend of the Seeker' is an Emmy Award Winner for “Outstanding Music Composition
for a TV Series” (2009), and has Emmy Nomination for “Outstanding Main Title Theme
Music” (2010).
Thank you in advance for your attention.
Best regards,"
This drive runs in conjunction with our plea for everyone to buy the DVD, however and from whereever, they can.
Remember, big enough DVD sales is a huge factor in helping us to get another season and this is what we are fighting for!
Us international fans, with the exception of France and Germany the lucky devils, may not be able to participate but we can buy the DVD for ourselves and our families.
So let's work together to get those DVD sales as high as we possibly can and help to Save Our Seeker!

This weeks JBC campaign - Dragon Con edition
In honour of the weekends Dragon Con convention, the JBC team has come up with a special edition

"Journey Book Campaign: Dragon*Con Edition
This last weekend, Seeker fans took DragonCon - one of the largest pop culture conventions in the world - by storm.
This week, in celebration of the LotS event fans held at Dragon*Con, the JBC has decided it's time to inform decision makers at ABC of the fandom's work and let them know just why this show deserves to be brought back!
In your letter you should focus on informing the recipients of the LotS activities at D*C, including but not limited to:
First ever LotS Fan Table at any convention
4000 iTunes free episodes
Coordinated LotS costume parade (tons of people in Seeker costumes:
Mord-Siths, Confessors, Darken Rahls, Jagang, Jennsen Rahl)
2 panels
LotS party
Tear away poster campaign
"Seeker Cast" podcast live recording
And for those who want to take that extra step, you can print out pictures from the convention and mail them in along with your letters. Photos are recommended, as we all know a picture says things words cannot. :)
Addresses for the week of September 6th-11th:
Anne Sweeney
Disney-ABC Television Group
500 S. Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521
Paul Lee
Disney-ABC Television Group
500 S. Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521
Janice Marinelli
Disney-ABC Television
500 S. Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521"
They are spot on the money saying Dragon is the largest pop culture convention - Eddie McClintock of Warehouse 13 tweeted last night saying it was insane there and that SDCC had nothing on Dragon Con.
So our presence and the lucky addition of a fan table is all the more important. So lets show DisneyABC what we can do!
